Sunday Offering: What to do when you don’t know what to do

Oh, friends. This is new territory for all of us.

I sat back this weekend and watched the tone of social media change. It went from denial, to fear, to panic and now, slowly, it has turned to gratitude, reflection, thoughts of creativity and selflessness.

We had Photo Wagon events scheduled in Austin this week for SXSW. This week, in particular, is what starts the madness that is our spring time. We get back from SXSW just in time to celebrate our anniversary, Ethan’s birthday, Evan’s birthday, my sisters birthday, my nieces birthday, spring break and then roll right into Cowboy Gatherings, farmers markets and wedding season.

As soon as the announcements started to roll out about the cancellations, I started to feel anxious. My shoulders up just a bit, my jaw a little tighter, stomach a bit queezy. I mean, it is our business and we do make money from these events…

But then… but then… I realized…

We have just been given an extra week, most likely more. Literally given extra time in our schedule. You know how sometimes you think, “if March just had one more week I could get it all done”… well now it does.

For us, it’s a blessing. For us, it’s time that we never ever would have had to do some of the things we need to do.

We hate that Micah can’t travel home. And that Ethan’s party needs to be cancelled and that we lost some income… but also, we are going to get a lot of things done that we would have had to cram into an already busy and stressful schedule.

This Sunday, this absolutely crazy and unheard of Sunday… I encourage you to make a list. Make a list of how you are going to take advantage of this time. How you are going to be productive and get those things done that you’ve been putting off.

Here are some things I plan to do… some are productive… some aren’t. But neither would I have had time for and now I do!

• go on a cleanse (less exposure to sugar and fast food makes it a perfect time)
• do some yoga videos I've been wanting to try
• drink more water
• clean out the flower beds and plan the garden
• finish back patio
• finish reading "Get Out Of Your Head"
• clean out media closet and Emily's closet
• get all beef organized and priced
• work on bone broth recipe
• watch McMillion$ on HBO
• watch Love is Blind on Netflix
• try 2 new recipes
• start sourdough starter
• bake some bread
• plan social media posts

There will be more… I know it.

What about you? Do you have a business idea you just haven’t had time to really flesh out? Now is the time! Do you have a book you need to finish, a closet to clean, a friend you’ve needed to call but haven’t had a chance? Now is the time!

Take advantage. Be productive. Be positive. And be careful.

This time can change your life. Use it wisely.

The following are some of my favorite things I have seen on social media this weekend. I hope you enjoy them too!
