Easy Ice Cream Social

You wanna know the secret to hosting an amazing Ice Cream Social? I’ll tell you. Cones. Ice cream CONES… like the actual cones!

This week, I hosted an Ice Cream Social at the barn for our Tate Farms horse boarding clients. We’ve had so many new clients join the farm these past few months that I thought it would be nice to get everyone together to meet. There is absolutely no better way to do this, than over ice cream.

Hosting doesn’t have to be hard. In the past, I would have gone way overboard. Making my own ice cream, making my own fudge sauce… now, don’t get me wrong, I still have those urges. But here lately I have gotten better at remembering what hosting is all about. It’s about bringing people together in a space where they feel comfortable and can relax enough to build and further relationships.

For this event, I kept it so simple… and it was perfect. Evan and I provided the ice cream and the clients each brought a topping. I found a free template online and made the cutest invite…

I bought Blue Bell, of course! And then I did the thing I told you about just a minute ago… I got cones! People love cones! I know it seems silly… but cones bring out the childlike joy in everyone. They’re just such a treat and a hosting detail that guests appreciate so much. You can buy a box of 24 cones for less than $2.00 at your local grocery store. A pretty cheap way to literally buy happiness.

Ice Cream Socials are great for home groups, play dates, summer book clubs and so much more. My hope is that these sorts of posts will encourage you to host more gatherings… to invite more people in to your little world and share your heart and home.

Happy hosting, my friends. Happy! Hosting!
